Reflections Training Academy are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and professional Safeguarding Officer to join the Team in Birmingham City Centre

Our safeguarding policies recognise that the welfare and interests of all service users are paramount in all circumstances. As a training provider of Hairdressing and Barbering, Reflections recognises its statutory responsibilities and is committed to ensuring that all service users are safe from the risk of harm.

The ideal candidate will need to have and demonstrate the following qualities:

• Develop and implement safeguarding policies, procedures, and practises in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements. • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential safeguarding issues and vulnerabilities within Reflections Training • Support the teams CPDs and developments for all users inclusive of our salon/barbershop employers. Facilitating and supporting team members in the accurate completion of all safeguarding documentation. • To carryout welcome visits with employers with the safeguarding vetting and workplace arrangements. • To investigate safeguarding incidents, concerns, or allegations promptly and to follow academy recording processes. • To work alongside DSO and Pastoral team members to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all learners on programmes are fully supported as and where identified. • To collaborate with external agencies to ensure the implementation of safeguarding. To liaise closely with other health and social care professionals, police and legal departments to ensure that a co-ordinated approach and high-quality care is provided, including attendance at case conferences and reviews if appropriate. • To monitor and review learner attendance • To complete detailed audits addressing the Government’s goals for children in relation to Safeguarding, Domestic Abuse, the Children’s Act 1989/2004 and the Care Act 2014. • A proven experience in safeguarding or child protection

Duties to include:

• To assist team members with day-to-day safeguarding and domestic abuse issues acting in a consultative and advisory capacity alongside the Safeguarding team. • Work independently through the reporting system (myconcern) ensuring all cases are received and outcomes are clearly documented. • An ability to inform the Director and Senior Management team with the development of key reports, quality improvement and action plans. • Excellent communication skills with a high level of personal presentation/team player/friendly and professional • To work alongside the directors and management team against the day to day academy running • To carry out safeguarding and Prevent workshops to groups of learners in deepening knowledge and understanding • Quality assure safeguarding processes and procedures • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practises in safeguarding. • To work with Salons and Barber shop owners with the set ups against the health, safety, Safeguarding, and wellbeing of learners in the workplace • Experience in SEN, EHCP and learning support preferred not essential. • A driving licence with access to own vehicle
